What business and technical challenges are you trying to overcome with WS_FTP?
Creating a secure and HIPAA-complaint file transfer solution that includes both end-user file transfer clients and a secure file transfer server.
Did you try/research any other products? If so, what led you to choose WS_FTP as your file transfer solution?
Yes, I looked at other solutions but I chose the WS_FTP solution for its simple interface and the fact that it's HIPAA-compliant.
How will this application of WS_FTP contribute to your company's overall business and operational effectiveness?
It will allow us to interact with healthcare providers locally and internationally by letting them upload and download HIPAA-protected data from us. We provide member eligibility files, as well as a place for healthcare providers to present patient records, electronic billing files, and claims.
What have the benefits been stemming from the implementation of WS_FTP?
The secure handling of data and streamlining the process for healthcare providers to be able to send us claims. WS_FTP Professional is much nicer than the alternatives and our providers use WS_FTP Professional as well.

Describe a situation in which you expect WS_FTP to give you a competitive edge.
Health care providers will be able to send claims directly to us and our clients will have the ability to directly interact with us.
How do you rate security in matter of importance on a scale from 1-10? Please explain.
It's an 11. Since we are an insurance provider we are subject to Federal HIPAA regulations. I believe SSH is vital to providing a secure transmission of member's health records. Until now, it's been difficult finding software vendors that provide this along with easy implementation.
Are you using WS_FTP for security purposes? Please explain why or why not?
YES, HIPAA compliance is one of our major priorities.
If you're using WS_FTP for security, please explain which capabilities you use most?
We use mainly strong password policies, having a minimum encryption level of 128 bit for clients.
Is compliance relevant? Please explain why or why not?
Yes, as we are subject to HIPAA regulations.
